14k Gold Waterman IDEAL Nib - Italic (Semi Flex)
Lever Filled Fountain Pen: serviced and ready to write
A superb Waterman 52, an icon of a pen serviced in house and ready to write.
There is nothing like a vintage nib which performs like a dream, this one is no exception: a broad Italic nib which flexes to a triple broad.
A smooth writer, not too cursive, perfect for calligraphers and Italic lovers.
The fountain pen is in overall good condition.
The pen shows its age as the hardened rubber is discoloured to a brown colour, a common occurrence on these pens.
We have chosen to leave the pen as it is rather than to treat the hardened rubber, preferring to retain the integrity of the pen.
There is tarnishing to the metal clip and lever bar, and evidence of corrosion, but it works fine.
The imprints are crisp and clearly legible
If you are looking for a new looking 'mint' pen this isn't it, but if you are looking for a delightful writer, this could be for you. The nib is a delight to write with!
The pen has been cleaned and fitted with a new inc sac and is ready to write
The 14k Gold Nib has been tuned and writes beautifully.
Please take a look at the writing samples for an indication.
A broad Italic which flexes to a triple broad. It is a wet writer and it lays down plenty of ink, but not excessively, naturally there's plenty of line variation to be had - a classic Waterman IDEAL nib, a sure winner
