Jacques Herbin Inks
Fabulous fountain pen ink in a handy sized 10ml bottle, great for checking on colours before buying larger quantities or for having a wide variety of colours to chose from.

We stock the full 35 colour Herbin range, and trust there's a shade or two for even the most eclectic of tastes. Checkout the ink swatch in the photo gallery to give you an idea how the ink will perform on the page.

This a very smooth flowing, water-based ink manufactured using all natural dyes that result in a very neutral pH level, thus making it particularly suitable for both modern and vintage fountain pens.

Recommendations
We recommend cleaning your pens between fills, just to make sure any residue is clear. We recommend cleaning pens with distilled water with a drop of Herbin Pen Cleaning solution where required.

Shake the bottle well before use.

Jacques Herbin: A Brief History
The oldest name in ink production worldwide, J. Herbin was established in 1670 creating inks and sealing waxes for many famous French figures including King Louis XIV and Victor Hugo, author of The Hunchback of Notre Dame.

The origins of J.Herbin date back to 1670. At around this time the French sailor Jacques Herbin produced his first ink in his Paris workshop, "The Ink of Ships." This ink was an iron gall ink, required to be waterproof due to the weather and damp climate of ship's cabins.

The recipe may have been formulated for the ship's master on his trips back and forth to India; or when he settled down in Paris to first start producing his sealing wax. Today Jacques Herbin are one of the most highly regarded producers of fountain pen ink in the world.
