Parker 51 Overview

The Parker 51 went into production in 1941, and remained a best-seller for decades thereafter, it has been dubbed 'The World's Most Wanted Pen'. The majority of examples in circulation, date from the 1950s and are still providing faithful service to millions of people worldwide.

Perhaps no other fountain pen has been so unanimously acclaimed as a classic. Nor is it merely a triumph of styling -- though it has a place in the Museum of Modern Art's design collection, it is also one of the most robust and practical writing instruments ever made.

This particular version is the MKIII, and is in near mint condition, it still bears the original factory chalk marks, which read: PARKER 51 CLASSIC XF. The pen carries a hard to find 14k gold Extra Fine nib, and has been exceptionally well preserved.

The fountain pen is in near mint condition.

This Parker 51 has been professionally restored by Grand Vision Pens.

The pen has been taken apart, breather tube, ink collector, nib and feed removed and cleaned, the aerometric sac ultrasonically cleaned and replaced.

The nib has been tuned and writes beautifully.

The pen has been reassembled and cosmetically polished, bringing this classic pen into full working order, ready to be inked and enjoyed.

What's more, all our pens come Grand Vision Guaranteed: guaranteed to write beautifully out of the box and to provide long lasting writing service.

There are no major imperfections to note, no chips cracks or engravings

The pen has only light sings of wear, tiniest hints of micro-scratches present, and the pen has no box, otherwise it would be listed as mint condition. A superb, well preserved example.

Writing Style & Nib Appraisal

The nib has been tuned to ensure smooth writing experience.

The nib is an extra fine, very smooth

Recommended for everyday use, calligraphy, greeting cards, signatures, journaling, and all forms of appropriate use.

Why not pair with a bottle of Organics Studio ink? An ink from their vintage series would suit this pen very well indeed.
