The name 'Meisterstück' was first used for a Montblanc in 1924 designating this range 'Masterpieces'. These pens have 14 carat gold nibs and a piston filling mechanism. The top of the cap is adorned with a representation of the snow covered top of Europe's highest mountain, the Mont Blanc and the 4810 on the nib represents the height of the mountain, 4810 meters.
The 146 is one of Montblanc's flagship line-up, standing proudly next to the slightly larger 149. It is a superbly proportioned pen, large enough to exude gravitas and yet tapered to remain elegant
This particular model carrier a rarer to find 18k gold fine nib. Montblanc 146 models tend to carry a 14k gold nib, this was part of a batch of pens produced by Montblanc for the French market in the 1990's and as such is rather rare to fine today. The benefit of an 18k nib is a softer, more responsive writing experience.
The pen is in near mint condition, fully serviced and ready to write
There are no major imperfections to note, no splits or engravings.
Only the lightest signs of use and handling, otherwise a near perfect example.
