Parker 51 Overview
The Parker 51 went into production in 1941, and remained a best-seller for decades thereafter, it has been dubbed 'The World's Most Wanted Pen'. The majority of examples in circulation, date from the 1950s and are still providing faithful service to millions of people worldwide.
Perhaps no other fountain pen has been so unanimously acclaimed as a classic. Nor is it merely a triumph of styling -- though it has a place in the Museum of Modern Art's design collection, it is also one of the most robust and practical writing instruments ever made.
Ariel Kullock is an Argentianian innovator, artist and customizer of fountain pens. He has been making customized pens since the 1990's, including Parker 51s with new barrel and section pieces as well as custom caps and entirely re-worked Parker 51 "fantasy" pens. This example is a yellow swirl demonstrator, allowing you to see the insides of this legendary pen, the feed, collector and nib are all visible through the stunning yellow swirling acrylic.
This Parker 51 has been professionally restored. The pen has been taken apart, breather tube, ink collector, nib and feed removed and cleaned, the aerometric sac ultrasonically cleaned and replaced.
The nib has been tuned and writes beautifully.
The pen has been reassembled and cosmetically polished, bringing this classic pen into full working order, ready to be inked and enjoyed.
There are no major imperfections to note, no chips cracks or engravings
