The Full Story
Thomas De La Rue Ltd began manufacturing the Onoto range in 1905 and they quickly eastablished themselves in an already densely populated marketplace. The pens were successful because of the excellent quality of the materials used and the superior design of the filling system. Onoto pens were as good, if not better, than all their contemporaries including Parker, Watermans and Conway Stewart.
This is a 1950's lever filler in grey marbled pearl, with a fine Italic flex nib, which offers line variation from a fine to a generous broad. Superb pen
The Nitty Gritty
There are no major imperfections to note, no splits cracks or chips.
There is a touch of brassing to the trim and the rubber tassie is a touch discoloured, the pen shows minor surface wear. Otherwise a superb example.
