The Story
The Parker "51" has been dubbed 'the world's most wanted pen' and indeed it is the worlds most sold fountain pen. The Parker "51" took eleven years to develop but Parker sold over 20 million pens during more than 30 years.
It was named the Parker "51" because Parker felt that they needed a name that wouldn't be hard to pronounce in any country and also easy to remember. The Parker "51" is probably the most functional fountain pen ever made. It never leaks, always works and rarely ever breaks.
Here we have a superb early 1950's Mk1 version of the pen, fully restored in house (having been stripped down, ultrasonically cleaned and re-assembled) and dip tested. An all time classic ready to provide years of faithful service.
The Nitty Gritty
There are no major imperfections to note, no chips cracks or engravings
The pen has only light sings of wear, micro-scratches present on the barrel and particularly around the hooded grip section where there are few scratches, however overall a superb clean example
Writing Style & Nib Appraisal
The nib has been tuned to ensure smooth writing experience. The nib is a smooth medium
Recommendations
Recommended for everyday use, calligraphy, greeting cards, signatures, journaling, and all forms of appropriate use.
Why not pair with a bottle of Organics Studio Ink - one of the vintage range would suit this pen very well!
