The Full Story
Mabie Todd & Co. Ltd was originally established as Mabie Todd and Bard of New York, USA in 1873 and began production in the UK in 1905 under licence.
The UK branch bought out the US outfit in the early 1920’s and Mabie Todd became a wholly owned British company, thriving thanks to British preferences for conservative design and reliability and successful advertising campaigns.
The SWAN L330 / 64 is a lesser known version of the leverless pens of the 1930's, here in gorgeous striated caramel, with double gold barrel bands, flat top and signature SWAN emblem on the gold clip. The pen has been fully restored and is in near mint condition.
The nib is a 14k gold semi flex stamped SWAN 3 G 14ct 585. It offers ample flex from a fine to a broad. Please see the writing sample in the photo gallery.
