The Story
The Wahl Eversharp Doric pens are amongst the all time great line-ups of vintage fountain pens ever produced. The Doric pens were made in the 1930's and 1940s and are famed for their Art Deco Faceted styling, bold colours and innovative features. In many ways these pens were ground-breaking in the introduction of ink windows, 'magic' split feeds and adjustable flex nibs.
This particular example is the Gold Seal Airliner 'Doric' in demi size, produced in 1939. A gorgeous lever filler with faceted black acrlyic cap and barrel, doric gold trim, with gold seal WAHL emblem and amber ink window, with a lovely flex nib which writes with a good degree of flex. Only minor signs of handling and use in the form of micro-scratches but otherwise a perfect example.
