The Wyvern Fountain Pen Co was formed in 1895 by David and Alec Finburgh. The company was original called The Finburgh Bros' who made a black hard rubber eye dropper which they called 'The Wyvern' they later changed their name to The Wyvern Fountain Pen Company and throughout the course of the first half of the 20th century produced high quality writing instruments, assembling pens for Conway Stewart and the John Bull co and selling their pens worldwide.
This particular model is full length classic, in wood grain effect hardened rubber, with a 14k gold fine semi flex nib, do checkout the writing sample in the photo gallery.
The pen has been restored and is superb working order.
There are no major imperfections to note, no chips splits or engravings.
There are some minor micro-scratches, marks and evidence of use on the cap and barrel and the hard rubber barrel is a little discoloured, this is evident where the cap meets the barrel. There is also some brassing to the gold trim and lever bar
Overall a very nice clean example, fully restored and ready to write.
Why not pair with a bottle of J Herbin ink? Blue Ocean or Rouge Hematite would make a wonderful compliment to this pen.
