The Parker Pen Company was founded in 1888 by George S. Parker, whose mission was to raise the bar in pen manufacturing. The Parker Pen Company’s tradition epitomizes the highest standards of craftsmanship, technology, and aesthetics. From the 1920s to the 1960s, Parker was No. 1 in worldwide writing instrument sales. The Parker Duofold is one of the most recognizable and enduring fountain pen designs. Launched in 1921, the pen was a phenomenal success and put the Parker Pen Company squarely into the front rank of fountain pen manufacturers.
This Parker Duofold is the full sized 'Big Red' Lucy Curve pen, in Jade Green Finish, with wide gold cap band and signature parker clip. It has been beautifully preserved. The imprint is bold and crisp, the rubber flat top still retains its colour, and the filling mechanism works beautifully, having been fully restored in house. The nib is a large Parker 14k Gold Fine nib, with no flex, but very smooth and reliable on the page. A superb piece of writing history
There are no imperfections to note, no chips cracks or engravings, a near perfect example.
The only imperfections are discolouration to the jade green finish as is customary with pens of this material and age. However unlike many examples there aren't any stark areas of discolouration, the pen is simply a dark shade of Jade green.
There is a touch of brassing to the gold cap band, but overall a beautifully restored instrument.
